It feels comfortable to wear making it a good everyday lipstick to use. Velvet Teddy has a matte formula, surprisingly it doesn’t feel drying on my lips and the staying power is good for 4-6 hours without any budging and sign of dryness. And for others who have a fair skin or pale lips, it appears as a pinky beige more of an earthy pink. It is described as a deep tone beige but appears on my hand swatch as a brownish pink. I fell in love with the shade even if I don’t have it yet.
I want my high-end lipsticks to be in the shades that I can actually wear everyday that’s why I stick with nudes, mauve and pinks. I agree with her since Kylie Lip Kit was released everyone is going gaga to find a dupe for her nude shades and Velvet Teddy is a lovely nude lipstick. She said it was really difficult to find. Luckily, Jane find one from Rustan’s Shang. Supposedly, my other cousin Ace is the one who will buy this for me but he lost his mind inside the store, he can’t remember the name of the lipstick and said casually to the lady “Miss may Red Velvet kayo?” and the lady raised her brows to him and said “Wala po.” When he is telling me the story I couldn’t help but laugh and told him it is actually Velvet Teddy! On his next attempt, he can’t find any from another branch. But when she asked me what shade do I want I told her Velvet Teddy. I did not expect that my cousin, Jane will give it to me.

I just want to have anything from Mac but as a student, budget is really tight and I have a lot on my list that is my actual priority rather than owning one so when my cousins asked me what I wanted for my graduation, I told them without any hesitation and second thought that I want a Mac Lipstick. Since this lipstick is LE, NYX Chic Red Round Lipstick ($4) serves as a great dupe.I always wanted to own a Mac Cosmetic, I don’t even care if it is a lipstick, a foundation or an eyeshadow. This lipstick looks beautiful on dark skin tones, and can be paired with a burgundy lip liner for a vampy look. RiRi Woo x MAC ($15) – This retro matte cool-toned red is by far my favorite red lipstick to date. This is a very unique nude in that it looks slightly lilacįlat out Fabulous x MAC ($15) – This matte bright plum lipstick is the perfect marriage between fuchsia and hot pink! I love this lipstick as a subtle pop of color.
Paired with a cool-tone brown lip liner, this lipstick is the perfect pinky nude for dark skin tones. Studio Matte Lip Color ($3) – This matte dusty rose lipstick is another nude fav or mine.
This is my go to lip color when I want to look vampy, dark and mysterious. Vamp it Up x Wet n’ Wild MegaLast Lip Color ($2) – This semi-matte blackened purple pays homage to the 90’s. I featured a pic of myself wearing Velvet Teddy - just so you guys can see that it is wearable! I keep re-buying this lipstick because I can’t live without it! Use with a warm-toned brown lip liner to soften the look. Velvet Teddy x MAC ($15) – This matte deep-toned beige is the perfect nude. It provides the perfect pop of color without being too ostentatious. It is a fan favorite and a must have in my book. Heroine x MAC ($15) – A matte bright purple lipstick that looks beautiful on dark skin tones. Yes, we can wear nudes but we have to wear nudes that compliment us! I chose a range of lipsticks that I think look great on darker skin tones (these are also the shades that many feel they can’t wear – your bright pinks, nudes and the perfect red). I thoroughly believe that dark skin women can wear the same shades as other skin tones, we just have to find the right shade. Often times, I hear a lot of dark skin WOC (women of color) say they can’t wear certain shades because of their skin tone. Lipstick is my all time favorite beauty product! A great lip can easily make or break your look.
